Research

Lake Champlain Sea Grant supports research that informs land and water management practices and policy decisions in favor of ecosystem health and sustainable economies in the Lake Champlain basin.

Researchers collaborate with a wide variety of partners in the region and throughout the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence ecosystem. We seek and welcome diverse perspectives and are committed to extending knowledge and resources to diverse audiences. We share scientific results and related management implications with local decision-makers and residents, and we are committed to dialogue with business, state, and local leaders, and the communities they serve.

Our research program consists of research projects, typically two years in duration and chosen through a competitive, peer-reviewed process, and annual fellowships for current and recent students. View current projects, completed projects, and fellowships.

Lake Champlain Sea Grant announces requests for research project proposals approximately every other year. We also share additional opportunities for research in the Lake Champlain basin, whether funded through Sea Grant or our partners. View current research opportunities.
